National/International Ministry

Serving young women since 1988, Christian Life Home has gained respect as a model housing ministry. With seasoned staff and a program that has been tried and proven to bring about life change, others have sought out CLH to assist them in starting a similar ministry or to help strengthen current ministries.

There are a number of ways CLH can assist others who want to make a difference in their community, here in the U.S. or around the world, by providing training and support. We have taught in the United States, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Haiti, El Salvador, South Africa, and Lesotho. Please let us know if there are ways we can assist you with training or consultations.

Here are some of the services we offer to other ministries:

On-Site Training:

Ministry Assessment – We will assess and evaluate your board, current programs, facilities and staff to help you identify strengths and areas for growth. We will give practical feedback about what steps to take to continue towards being a ministry of excellence. Regardless of where your ministry currently stands, in crisis or just wanting to grow, we can help you learn how to move forward.

Equipping the Board – We will assist board members in understanding their role and responsibilities on the board and to the ministry. We can help equip the board in becoming the spiritual leaders needed in order to build an effective ministry. We can profile the board to help them better understand the makeup of the personality of the board as a whole and who could be added to the board to strengthen it.

Equipping the Staff – We will train and help equip the staff of the home to understand their position and how to effectively reach the women they are called to serve. We can also profile the staff to help them work better together as a team and understand their unique gifts they bring to the team.

Trainings:

The Director and appropriate staff of ministries interested in training will travel to CLH for a few days for training.

  • Phase I – A two day roundtable discussion regarding fundamentals of operating a Christian housing program. We will start with what is needed to build a strong foundation for the ministry and provide some of the tools in which to do it. This training is very practical and tailored to meet your needs as a new ministry. You will walk away with forms and tools that will help you operate a home with excellence. There is no fee for this service.
  • Phase II – A three to five day classroom-style training for the Director and appropriate staff. This training shows you how to build and maintain an effective housing program. It will include instruction, discussion, practical exercises and in-home observations, as studying the program on-site helps you understand the principles we are teaching. There are fees associated with our formal training. If you are interested, please call our office for more information at 919-510-5400.
  • Phase III – This final phase is an on-going coaching and consultation to support your ministry in implementing the training and feedback. We will be available during times of crisis and transitions. This phase may involve on-site visits to your ministry or returning to CLH for more extensive training. Much of it will be done over the phone as you have situations arise for which you need guidance. Often, the difference between winning the battle or being defeated is knowing you aren’t in it alone. We are excited to be able to journey with you to fulfill the call God has for your ministry!

Christian Life Home desires to see other ministries grow to be effective in bringing about true life transformation in the lives of young women who are experiencing unplanned pregnancy. Please let us know how we can support you.

Testimonies

From Steve and Kathy Curtis, Executive Director, Bethlehem Home:

We appreciated all the time you spent with us. It was such a great help and encouragement! Your willingness to share the many things you've learned and documents you've put together is really a blessing to us and I'm sure has been to many others. It was good to meet you and the other staff members. God is doing great work there at Christian Life Home.

From Julie Zahn, Executive Director, The Shepherd's Inn:

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors, I thank you for your support and counsel. The heart you have to serve and bulid the Body of Christ worldwide is a blessing to so many.

From Mark McDougal, Executive Director, Ruth Harbor:

After three years of operating a Christ-centered maternity home, we still consider ourselves new at this. While I know God can choose to bless our efforts in spite of our lack of experience or expertise, I believe He provides others in the body of Christ to minister and partner with to accomplish His purposes of bringing about the Kingdom of God. So we are grateful to Amy and the entire staff at CLH for training (for house parents, director, and counselor), prayer support, form templates, banquet speaking, insight on staff selection, strategic thinking, and coaching on everything from policy to fundraising and special events! The example at CLH has also encouraged us to reach out to the other maternity homes in the Midwest offering support and encouragement when we can.

From David, House Parent, House of Hope Maternity Home:

It is ineffable regarding both the invaluable impression left on us and the knowledge and skills that we acquired (from no more than a mere five days of training). God certainly had it all planned out-to work a work-and one that we previously were not privy to, nor expecting. Each member of your team was vitally necessary; we had church the way church ought to be, every joint supplying, and each part working. We were so amazed with the assorted menu of lessons served, the very important details that were diligently handled (and not thoughtlessly neglected), and the warmth and friendliness with which you unselfishly ministered. The direction of our lives was radically changed, and our minds were enlightened with a greater vision for how God wants to better use us.

From Debbie Durrell, Executive Director, Lois' Lodge:

The training which we have participated in through Christian Life Home has been invaluable in helping us to keep our focus and priorities correct as we have begun to provide services. Because of your willingness to serve Him in whatever capacity He desires, you are impacting innumerable lives all over the United States and the world.
